New Delhi: Bharat Hotels, which owns ‘The Grand´ group of hotels, on 2 May announced its joint venture with UAE-based real estate developer Nakheel to build its first international hotel in Dubai at an investment of Rs 475 crore.

Nakheel will lead the construction and development of the project-‘The Grand Fort Dubai´, while Bharat Hotels would create the design and concept and would also manage the hotel operations, a joint press release said.

The 244-rooms super-luxury resort, expected to open in 2009,will be architecturally inspired by the majestic forts of Rajasthan in India. All facilities and service would incorporate the very latest in hospitality concepts and technology.

“With such a vibrant hotel market, Dubai was the first choice as our first international venture. We are indeed privileged to be partnering with Nakheel,” Bharat Hotels Ltd Chairperson and Managing Director Jyotsna Suri said.

Through the Grand Fort Dubai, the company would be able to showcase a unique blend of Indian hospitality with best of contemporary international style, she said.

City-based Bharat Hotels has 14 luxurious hotels in different parts of the country with more than 3,600 rooms in the five star category.
