New Delhi: Posting a classified advertisement becomes even simpler with providers like Sulekha.com, an online social networking and local commerce website for Indians worldwide, introducing classifieds ads on mobile handsets.

As with all classifieds ads posted they will offer a new feature that will enable users to view the classifieds listings, post a classified ad and access the same through their mobile handsets.

This service will also allow users to receive responses for their classified advertisement through SMS (short messaging service). Sulekha.com can be navigated through any WAP enabled mobile phone at regular GPRS charges.

According to Satya Prabhakar, founder & CEO, Sulekha.com. “India is emerging as a forerunner in using the cell phone as a tool to access the Internet, with one in every 11 people logging on to the web being an Indian. Classified ads on the mobile phones offer an instant, inexpensive and user-friendly medium available 24x7. It clearly obviates the need for logging on to a computer with internet access. Mobile phones today are increasingly getting integrated into the personal lives of the people and have expanded their functionality beyond just a talking tool.”

Customers can log on to the site and post their classifieds ads or receive responses while on the go. The classifieds posted by the users will go live after the advertisement is validated by customer care.
