New Delhi: The wholesale price index based inflation for the week ended 29 December, 2007, remained unchanged at its previous week’s level of 3.50%.

The annual rate of inflation stood at 5.89% a year ago.

According to the official data released on 11 December, the price of food articles group fell 0.3% due to lower prices of fruits and vegetables, which fell by 2% and fall in prices of fish-marine, moong and urad pulses by 1% each over the previous week.

The prices of manufactured products, which have 63.75 weight in the price index, rose by 0.2% for the week.

Meanwhile, oilseeds prices declined by 0.5% but the prices of dairy products rose marginally by 0.7% for the week ended 29 December.
