New Delhi: Doodling just got a new incentivized lease of life. School kids, bored in their classrooms, doodling as the teacher drones with complex equations, boring history dates and uninspiring science experiments, could just end up turning into celebrated ‘graphic artists’, winning a multimillion dollar grant for putting pen to paper and drawing patterns that they thought made little sense.

Doodle 4 Google

Google has announced the launch of ”Doodle 4 Google” a competition that invites school children to design a Google logo inspired by the question, ”What If...?” The winning student’s doodle will be displayed on the site’s homepage on 22May, 2008. The champion ”doodler” will win a $10,000 college scholarship and a $25,000 technology grant as an education grant.

The company will be privy to the creative outpourings of millions of children from across the globe. And on the flip side, doodling gets an elevated ranking, moving from being a mindless activity to something that could be a work of art!
