New Delhi: Many countries will reduce extreme poverty almost to half by 2015, according to a World Bank assessment. However, the prospects of reducing child and mother deaths, increasing school enrollments and erasing hunger look bleak. The World Bank is assessing a series of global goals aimed at helping the world’s poorest people. Due in 2015, the Millennium Development Goals aim to prod countries to cut poverty, get kids in school and improve life expectancy.
