New Delhi: India’s latest pace sensation Ishant Sharma has been roped in by the country’s top CDMA operator Reliance Communications to endorse its telecom products.

Industry sources said the Delhi speedster, who was signed up by the Anil Ambani company on Friday, would endorse the entire range of services offered by RCom including mobile services.

When contacted Reliance spokesperson declined to comment.

RCom had earlier signed up cricketers like M.S. Dhoni and Virender Sehwag as brand ambassadors.

Sharma already has top brands in his kitty, including Pepsi and Reebok. RCom is trying to cash in on the young and vibrant image of the cricketer.

The pacer was bought at an astronomical figure of Rs3.5 crore in the Indian Premier League auction and was the third most-expensive player next only to M.S. Dhoni and Australia’s Andrew Symonds. In the IPL, Sharma is part of the Kolkata Knight Riders team of Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan.

The 6’4" tall cricketer is not yet 20 years in age and has just started his international cricket career.
