Body fresh: The fabric in this suit is treated to the yarn level.

Body fresh: The fabric in this suit is treated to the yarn level.

One of the great joys of travelling is going to a new place and sampling the local food and liquor: salty fish, tangy cheese, fermented olives, all washed down with shots of potent home-brewed beer.

The memories will remain with you long after your trip is over. And by memories we mean the noisome stink of sun-dried swordfish that will permeate your clothes, your luggage and pretty much your entire life for a few months after.

So, while travelling far and wide is de rigueur, walking into a boardroom smelling like a trawler boat is not. Now, a new line of suits from Park Avenue hopes to combat the problem. Made from fabric that has been specially treated to the yarn level, the suits are resistant to external odours. The invisible coating has virtually no impact on the structure and drape, and is available in a range of basic colours such as grey, navy, blue and brown. The coating should last for 15-20 visits to the dry cleaners. The “Odour Shield” range of suits is available at Park Avenue outlets for Rs19,999 per suit.
