Sukumar, 38, was previously deputy managing editor.

At Mint, Sukumar has “already been instrumental in the planning and subsequent execution of an editorial strategy that remains focused on delivering strong, insightful content to our growing readership, while constantly striving for a higher performance that lives up to Mint’s industry-leading ethical values and transparent journalism standards,” an internal memo issued by Rajiv Verma, CEO, HT Media Ltd, the publisher of Mint, said.

Sukumar has an MBA from Bharatidasan Institute of Management, Trichy, and an MSc in Mathematics and a BE in Chemical Engineering from BITS, Pilani. He joined Mint in late 2006.
