Superbikes have always found a place in the dreams of the young and adventurous and as international motorcycle companies launch in India, they are becoming a reality on our city’s road.
Almost all bike manufacturers are gearing up for the next big war in the motorcycle segment in India, which is likely to happen in the high-end segment. The latest to join the bandwagon is Italy’s Ducati, which announced its India foray in partnership last week. The company plans to bring its entire range of 15 bikes to India, priced between Rs15 lakh and Rs50 lakh.
Ducati is not the only one to count on India for power bikes. Yamaha has already introduced its 1670cc MT01 cruiser and 1000cc R1 racing bike, both priced a little over Rs10 lakh. Suzuki also plans to get its power bikes and so does Honda.

BMW didn't bring their superbike range to India. Rather, Hero imported just one batch of the single cylinder F650 Funduro. That bike is as far removed from the title "superbike" as Hillary Clinton from the White House. Do some research before penning articles. It helps.

To add to the comment above : You dont 'drive' a bike, you 'ride' one. Also, its not that there's no market for superbikes, its just that its our great Indian government which imposes ridiculous duties and taxes which result in such beauties being priced out of the reach of most but the extremely priviledged.

Sandeep and Hafeez, you guys are spot on! Both counts. Dude who wrote article: Please research. You obviously do not have any idea of the motorcycle market. Hafeez's comments are absolutely what I believe - our government needs its head examined where this issue is concerned.
