New Delhi: Media major Jagran Prakashan today announced a net profit of Rs 31.65 crore during the first quarter ending June 30 of the current fiscal.

The company, however, did not mention the net profit for the first quarter of the last fiscal.

“This was a difficult quarter, given the negative sentiments on all economic fronts, but our company could still continue to achieve higher than the industry’s overall growth in advertisement revenue,” Jagran Prakashan chairman and MD, Mahendra Mohan Gupta said.

Jagran also reported an operating revenue of Rs206.49 crore during the first quarter, an increase of 12.57% over the Rs183.42 crore reported during the corresponding period of last fiscal year, Jagran Prakashan said in a statement.

It added that the company earned a total revenue of Rs212.78 crore during the first quarter and the non-annualized earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs1.05.
