New Delhi: HT Media Ltd on 31 July posted a net profit of Rs377 million for the quarter ended 30 June 2008, up 10% over the coorespoding period the previous year.

During the quarter under review, the company’s revenues rose 17% at Rs3,329 million compared to Rs2,837 million in the corresponding previous period.

In a statement released on 31 July, HT Media said its ad revenues during the quarter were up 19% at Rs2,805 million and revenues rose 17% at Rs3,329 million.

EBIDTA rose 13% to Rs745 million in the quarter ended 30 June 2008 compared to Rs660 million in the year-ago quarter.

Commenting on the performance, Shobhana Bhartia, vice-chairperson and editorial director, HT Media, said: “I am pleased to report strong financial performance despite the challenges of continuing high newsprint prices and our investments towards brand building and expanding our presence especially in the Hindi speaking geographies.”
