Hi, Since it is a new initiative hiccups is not a crime. Timely corrections are also acceptable. What is not acceptable is there is no corrective action for the gaps these hiccups have caused. It is pretty bad to see not one but a number of processes are unprofessional. While the competition first level if 50:50 for expert’s comments and voting, both areas work so-so. Moreover we feel the voting opportunity was snatched away by a minimum of 60% by the following: 1.During a period of time when the traffic was at peak, either the site was too slow to open or the page was not found to vote. We were “fortunate” to be in at that period. The effort to get clients to vote was a frustrating task. 2. Exactly during the same period the SMS got clogged. SMS sent received responses like “server busy”, “we cannot accept your request now” etc. So again the voting opportunity reduced. 3. The mail id validation for voting was introduced some 7-10 days back again has a problem. The mail confirmation link is sometimes not received at all and sometimes days later. The situation in point 1 & 2 may have been temporary but this is supposed to be a competition? The hits are captured what happens to the misses? Why conduct a competition which does not provide equal opportunities for exposure, effective voting mechanism, openness of panel / experts, right spirit of competition? Instead of just ‘rectifying SMS issues’ wont it be more encouraging to get from the SP the number of votes which has reached their server (or SMS which are charged), compare with your server to see the gap in votes and give the credit to the deserving? Of course not all gaps can be filled but most can... to bring in certain amount of spirit of the competition. Thanks, Purnima Varadrajan CEO www.ipott.com
