New Delhi: Luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz today said it has crossed 3,000-units mark in sales in India for the first time during January-September period, registering a growth of 56% over the same period last year.

During the period, the German auto major sold 3,001 units of its vehicles in the Indian market, the company said in a statement.

“Our impressive performance this year continues. We are delighted to cross the 3,000 sales figure mark for the first time and have already set our sights on many more,” Mercedes -Benz India Managing Director and CEO Wilfried Aulbur said.

The company is confident that it would continue to grow in the coming months and years and remain competitive in an already “ultra dynamic market”, he added.

During the nine-month period, Mercedes-Benz sold 524 units of S Class, 921 units of E Class and 1,450 units of C Class cars in India.
