Vijayawada: “The All India Insurance Employees Association (AIIEA) will be launching an agitation against the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) insurance sector,” the association’s official said.

“Our association will resist the introduction of bill in the Parliament during the winter session to hike the limit of FDI from 26% to 49%, which was detrimental to insurance sector,” AIIEA General Secretary K. Venugopal said.

“Our association will conduct seminars and conventions in 140 centres all over the country to educate the people about the ill effects of the FDI,” he said.

“We will also meet the MPs and the leaders of all the political parties and explain to them the dangers of the bill,” Venugopal added.
