Srinagar: The National Conference (NC) emerging as the single-largest party in a hung Assembly in Jammu and Kashmir is all set to stake claim for forming the next government for which it will approach Congress.

With no party getting the required the 44 seats for a majority, the Congress will play the ‘kingmaker´. It has already won four seats and is ahead in 12 other seats.

If the projections held true, Congress and NC which together could have 45 seats and may join hands to form the government after the long seven-phased polls spread over five weeks which saw a record turnout of 61% in the state.

An elated Abdullah, who spearheaded his party’s campaign and also won from Ganderbal seat by a margin of 3,600 votes, said they would approach Congress for forming the government. His father and party patron Farooq Abdullah won from Hazratbal seat but was trailing in Sonawar.

Though Congress is yet to reveal its cards, party president Sonia Gandhi has convened a high-level meeting of senior leaders to formulate a strategy on government formation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who won the election from Baderwah, said the party would ally with any party which would help combat terrorism.

Though the verdict of J&K does not provide majority to any political party but in fact the verdict is in favour of India's democratic system. It is not matter who win or who loss but it matters that the common man of J&K win and above all it is win of democracy over separatism in the state.Despite the immense pressure from the side of Separatists ,the huge voting turn out in the state set an example of democratic will power of the common men in the state. The rest of the states of India should also learn from the people of J&K about how to participate in the democratic representation as the average voting percentage of J&K is much more higher than other states in the recent Assembly Election. Now it is the right time to ban these so called separatist group by the government as they acted anti national and adverse against the will of people in the J&K.Our neighbouring country, Pakistan now must understand that Kashmir is the integral part of India and is not their father's property. The rest of the world's eye must be opened in this regard and should support India in the matter of Kashmir dispute.Last but not least is that this is the success of Indian democracy and highly appreciable Election Commission of INDIA and also the capable security men deployed in the state to break down the backbone of terror groups in this eve of Assembly election in the state of J&K.
