New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Friday announced an ex-gratia of Rs200,000 each to the next of kin of those killed in the serial bomb blasts at Guwahati in Assam.

An amount of Rs100,000 each would be given to those seriously injured in Thursday’s blasts, the prime minister’s media adviser said in a statement.

The assistance would be given from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.

Expressing grief over the loss of lives in the blasts, the prime minister said Thursday the government would root out terrorism taking the recent anti-terror measures to their logical conclusion.

“The government will stay steadfast in its determination to root out terrorism and that the measures initiated recently in this direction will be taken to their logical conclusion,” he said.
