Mumbai: Liquor baron Vijay Mallya-led United Breweries Holdings on Tuesday said its net profit for the third quarter ended 31 December, jumped 66.98% to Rs6.93 crore.

The company had a net profit of Rs4.15 crore for the same quarter FY’08, United Breweries Holdings said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Total income of the company rose to Rs72.05 crore for the quarter under review, against Rs62.41 crore for the same period corresponding year.

For the nine months ended 31 December, the company has posted a net profit of Rs31.15 crore, against Rs 50.16 crore for the same period last year.

Shares of United Breweries were trading at Rs99, down 0.35% on the BSE.
