Ramayan’s almost over when someone asks: Who is Ram? That’s what’s happening in Sri Lanka.

Mahinda Rajapaksa’s government has wiped out the Tamil Tigers and the West has finally awakened to the plight of civilians.

The Times of London reports that the US is threatening to block a $1.9 billion (nearly Rs10,000 crore) emergency loan from the International Monetary Fund to Sri Lanka. The West is reluctant to help Sri Lanka ostensibly because of human rights concerns. But with Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) chief V. Prabhakaran on the run, this fight is on the home stretch. It’s a little too late to use “moral suasion” to direct Sri Lankan military policy.

There is, of course, more to it than meets the eye. President Rajapaksa, who doesn’t want to be lectured by the West, has pricked egos in London and Washington by rebuffing their appeals. Now Sri Lanka’s hard-won victory against the LTTE is being hindered. In contrast, the West is happy to give multiple lifelines to Pakistan for its half-hearted attempts against terrorism.

Whoever has written this article must be an heartless soul ! For neutralising a small terror group, you can not justify a genocide. It is like saying bomb the Hotel Taj on 26/11 to kill the Pak terrorists instead of painstakingly saving the hostages. If you cant sympathise with their sufferings, atleast dont pour oil on their wounds.

Genocide has been commited by the Ltte with the money sent by people like you who at every turn are trying to twist and turn the truth to cover your own sins. For the innocent lives your money has destroyed there will be natural consequences and pray hard that you will not be born into another Rwanda like situations to pay for your dastardly crimes. Are you suggesting that that the democratically elected government of a country must look on helplessly for ever whilst a sick band of terrorist lays waste to the country. You seem to have a rather perverted view of what suffering is.The person who has written the article has written the truth. The problem is you do not wish to admit it.Get youself rehabilitated to the truthful path non violence.
