Mumbai: Novartis India Ltd posted a 3.86% decline in net profit to Rs20.7 crore during the March quarter of fiscal 2009. Net profit for the fiscal year ending 31 March stood at Rs104 crore as against Rs97 crore a year ago.

Sales during the quarter rose marginally at Rs134.3 crore, against the corresponding quarter last year. Total sales for the fiscal 2009 stood at Rs599 crore, up 8.3% over Rs553 crore the year before.
