New Delhi: Two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto Ltd expects to at least double domestic sales to about 175,000 units a month in the second half of this fiscal, managing director Rajiv Bajaj said.

The expected increase in sales would come as a result of two new launches the company plans to make in July and November. Bajaj declined to disclose further details. The firm is currently using about 60% of its installed capacity of 250,000 at its three plants at Chakan near Pune, Waluj in Aurangabad and Pantnagar in Uttarakhand. The increased sales would push utilization up to 90%, Bajaj said.

Bajaj has been averaging sales of at least 80,000 units per month. It exports an additional 50,000 units a month.

On Tuesday, Bajaj also launched a new 220cc variant of its popular Pulsar bike.
