Mumbai: Media firm Sun TV Network on Wednesday reported a 13% rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs368.33 crore for the financial year ended 31 March, 2009.

The company had a consolidated net profit of Rs326.69 crore during the 2007-08 fiscal, Sun TV Network said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Total income of the company, which has presence in print media, and operates several television channels and FM Radio service, rose to Rs1,106.16 crore during FY’09 from Rs925.54 crore a year ago.

The media house has declared a final dividend of 20% or Re1 per share for the 2008-09 fiscal.

On a standalone basis, Sun TV Network posted a net profit of Rs437.11 crore, up 19%, compared to Rs366.98 crore last fiscal.

The standalone total income of the Sun TV Network rose to Rs1,091.52 crore during the fiscal ended 31 March, 2009, from Rs925.99 crore a year ago.

Shares of Sun TV Network surged nearly 5% and were trading at Rs248 in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
