Severodvinsk, Russia: Russian President Dmitry Medvedev ordered shipbuilder Sevmash to complete the overhaul of an aircraft carrier, the Admiral Gorshkov, for India after delays and cost overruns.

We should think of this as a first, very difficult experience, Medvedev said on Thursday in the northern port of Severodvinsk. We need to complete the carrier and deliver it to our Indian partners. Otherwise there could be grave consequences.

Russia and India in 2004 signed a $1.5 billion agreement for the sale and overhaul of the Admiral Gorshkov along with 28 MiG-29K fighter jets and other components.

It is a lamentable tale for all patriotic indians as how the forth largest army in the world is deprived from its capabilities. On one side curruption in the procurement of modern arms and on the other side our trusted friend not keeping up to commitments. India, lost and will lose its credibility in an unforseen senario. Indian governance is something to be ashamed of as they spend their 5 year term in filling their coffers neglecting the country. India must embark speedily to industrialise without depending on foreign contries for her arms. DRDO is a total failure. Private sectors must come in to play a vital roll to protect our country. The current global senario demands, india to be strong at least to defend the country. Once again I must inform all indians that Inda must exert effort a similar to the one of Germany prior to the 2nd world war and not wait until the country is sorrounded. This must not be a flute played to the dumb and deaf but to those who have alteast an iota of wisdom on the unfolding events around India. The double standard of China since 1962 should have opened the eyes and ears of the Indian politicians to compete with China. But they failed misserabley. DRDO's cnacellation of the tender for the much neede helicopters is yet another blow that we have to stomach. India, undoubtedly, heading towards total captulation which will be evident in 2012. It will be an eggregious folly to depend further on Russia and what surety is ther that Russia will not arm Pakistan? India must not depend soley on DRDO or Russia for deliverance. But must trust the private sectors if Super power dreams are to be translated into reality. Russia has even denied technology transfer as agreed. do you see that Russia is playing cats and mouse with India. America keeps on talking withut concreate contribution. The Indian system is such the countries around the world knows how to squeese India by mere talking and taking commission. Indians must grap the reality.
