Severodvinsk, Russia: Russian President Dmitry Medvedev ordered shipbuilder Sevmash to complete the overhaul of an aircraft carrier, the Admiral Gorshkov, for India after delays and cost overruns.

We should think of this as a first, very difficult experience, Medvedev said on Thursday in the northern port of Severodvinsk. We need to complete the carrier and deliver it to our Indian partners. Otherwise there could be grave consequences.

Russia and India in 2004 signed a $1.5 billion agreement for the sale and overhaul of the Admiral Gorshkov along with 28 MiG-29K fighter jets and other components.
