Bangalore: Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd, the Indian arm of the world’s largest car maker, has raised its production numbers month-on-month since February, and expects sales to be flat this year. This is despite a fall in sales registered in the first six months of this year.

“In the last quarter of last year, there was a fear psychosis. Now, market sentiment is better, finance rates have gone down and the GDP (gross domestic product) is growing,” said Sandeep Singh, deputy managing director (marketing), Toyota Kirloskar, at the launch of an upgraded version of its flagship sedan Camry in Bangalore on Friday. The company aims to sell 52,000 vehicles in this year. It will introduce in India its sports utility vehicle Fortuner in August.
