New Delhi: After eight years, the ministry of environment and forests, released the State of the Environment 2009, on Tuesday. The report covers the state and trends of the environment (land, air, water, biodiversity) and five key issues, namely, climate change, food security, water security, energy security, and urbanization.

While releasing the report, Jairam Ramesh, minister of state (independent charge), said that, from now on, the reporting will be on an annual basis.
