New Delhi: Hinduja Group flagship firm Ashok Leyland on Wednesday reported a marginal decline of 0.7% in commercial vehicle sales at 4,784 units in August this year as compared to the same month in 2008.

The company had sold 4,819 units in the same month last year.

Domestic sales stood at 4,233 units in August against 4,225 units in the same month last year, down 0.1%, Ashok Leyland said in a statement.

Exports fell by 7.23% to 551 units in the month compared to 594 units in the year-ago period.

The company reported a decline of 1.56% in total domestic sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles at 4,161 units from 4,227 units in the same month last year.
