The one year since the fall of Lehman Brothers has been filled with discussions of “decoupled economies,” and a couple of days ago, the Wall Street Journal wrote about how recent Asian growth has now revived the concept of decoupling. But what exactly does this concept involve? What is the evidence both for and against decoupling? Is a decoupled scenario even a desirable one for India at this juncture?

To talk with us today, our guest is V. Anantha Nageswaran, who is chief investment officer with an international wealth management firm. Mr. Nageswaran is also the editor of Bare Talk, a Mint column on finance that is published every Tuesday.
