Almaty: Punjab National Bank may buy a stake in small Kazakh lender Metrokombank, Metrokombank said on Friday.

“The deal will take place once several conditions are met, including a due diligence check and regulatory approvals,” Metrokombank said in a statement.

It did not disclose the size or any other details of the potential deal.

Metrokombank had assets of $35 million as of 1 August, making it one of the smallest banks in the oil-rich Central Asian state.
