New Delhi: Telecom minister A Raja on Thursday expressed confidence that it will have the target of 500 million telephone subscribers in 2009, a year ahead of the deadline.

“With a record addition more than 10 million subscribers each month, we are confident of achieving 500 million subscribers in 2009, ahead of the government’s target of 2010,” telecom minister A Raja told reporters here.
