New Delhi: The Election Commission of India, or EC, on Friday announced elections dates for the state legislative assembly of Jharkhand. The election to 81 assembly constituencies, to be held in five phases, would begin on 27 November while the date of counting will be 23 December. The other four phases would be held on 2, 8, 12 and 18 December, respectively.

While 30 constituencies would go to polls in the first phase, 15 would face the electorate in the second phase. In the third, fourth and fifth phases, elections to 7, 14 and 15 assembly seats, respectively, will be held.
