New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat on Wednesday met Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani at his residence over lunch amid speculations of Advani willing to retire from politics after an unsuccessful run as Prime Ministerial candidate in the April-May Lok Sabha polls. The meeting lasted for more than an hour.

RSS, the ideological parent of BJP had called for more participation of young leaders in the affairs of the party. However, the party maintained the meeting to be a ‘routine one’. Party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said: “I don’t have any information about the meeting.”

Later in a function held to release the book ‘India Battles to Win’ by RSS ideologue Tarun Vijay, Bhagawat refuted the media reports about his quote on the need for ’chemotherapy’ for party on Tuesday in Jaipur. “I never said anything like that, you can see the transcript of my press conference,” Bhagwat said.

Speaking in the function held at the Parliament Library complex, Bhagwat said: “It is time for India to think being what we and stop imitating America or China or any other nation.”
