Mumbai: Amitabh Chaudhry, chief executive of Infosys BPO Ltd, the business process outsourcing arm of India’s second largest software services exporter Infosys Technologies Ltd, resigned on Monday.

Chaudhry had taken over as chief executive in March 2006. Details about the reason for his resignation, or his successor were not immediately available. A company spokesperson confirmed the development but said there was no official communication on the matter. Earlier this month, Infosys BPO had announced its intention to acquire US-based insurance business process outsourcing firm McCamish Systems Llc for up to $58million.
