International fashion houses and designers continue to be fascinated by India. John Galliano has used ikat prints and silhouettes resembling Indian outfits for his Fall/Winter Ready-to-Wear Collection for Christian Dior. Embroidered chiffon dresses in jewel tones such as mustard, rani pink and red were offset with silver jewellery. Patiala-style harem pants also made an appearance.

This year Jimmy Choo gave Indians one more reason to love bling. To correspond with the brand’s New Delhi store launch, two bags andtwo pairs of shoes in gold were released, just for the Indian market. A few pieces are still available at Jimmy Choo stores in Mumbai and New Delhi.

Bottega Veneta has also paid tribute to India, since their Mumbai store reopens this month. A limited edition Indian version of the label’s iconic Knot clutch will be on shelves. A shimmering surface of leather sequins replicates the look of Bottega Veneta’s signature intrecciato weave.
