Bangalore: Beating analyst expectations, United Spirits Ltd, the world’s second largest spirits maker by sales, more than tripled its third quarter net profit to Rs96.85 crore from Rs30.59 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. The spirits arm of the Vijay Mallya-owned UB Group, with 140 brands such as McDowell’s No. 1 whisky and Romanov vodka, clocked a 30.5% rise in sales to Rs1,357.97 crore.
