Mumbai: Over the next few months, fans of actor Amitabh Bachchan fans will be able to access his vog, or vocal blog, by dialling the number 505678910 and hear him speak about his day, his movies and even his philosophy in life. The actor may even call some fans back if they leave him a message.

“It is just a couple of steps removed from the real thing,” said Jessica Talbot, director, Inside India Ltd., the London-based company that is introducing the service called ‘Bachchan Bol’, which will cost callers Rs 6 a minute.

Inside India is an international firm that acts as a repository for licensable content and entertainment from Indian stars.

Bachchan is the first celebrity the company has tied up with. For the actor, it is one more way to reach his audience. “Mediums are constantly increasing. From print to television to radio to online. It’s difficult to escape these media,” said Bachchan. “When they (Inside India) approached me, I was already doing my blog. So, I thought it was a more personal way to reach my fans.”

The vog will be launched in Hindi and later be available in English.
