Mumbai: Shailesh Rao, managing director (media and platforms – Asia Pacific region) of Google, has resigned from the company.

A Google spokesman has confirmed Rao’s resignation, but refused to offer further details.

“We thank Shailesh for his contributions to Google and wish him the best in his future endeavours,” the spokesperson said.

A person close to the development said Rao is likely to join microblogging site Twitter as vice-president, international business.
