I still am looking for the answer to your question - why don't we adopt more? Maybe it is a supply side issue, with no one pushing this enough, actually I feel no one is pushing this at all. For such a big life changing decision, it needs a big social intervention - of acceptance, of ease. The state of adoption is not surprising given that we need to be prodded continuously to cast our vote & buy condoms & give polio drops. Till such time, we can do with our unconditioned love giving canine kids.
