A mom’s a mom, and genetics can’t explain it
A mother’s reaction to her baby’s cry has less to do with biology or genetics and more to do with emotion, specifically love

Moms and babies bond while in utero and the bond continues to grow afterwards unless this bond is interfered with..really, genetics is important. Adoptees do have identity crisis. Mothers long for infants they lost to adoption. Separation of mothers from their children may not always be avoided but it is cruel to encourage this as though it is no big deal.
