Crisis-hit Sasken sees margins plunging
Since January, the firm’s stock has fallen 83.7% and closed at Rs55.45 on Tuesday, almost one-fifth of the Rs260 at which shares were sold to the public in September 2005

I was an employee of Sasken for 2 years from 2005 to 2007. It is one of the best places to work, very cordial and informal atmosphere. I think where sasken went wrong was in its transition from a small company to a larger company. Also as rightly mentioned, just focusing on one vertical and that too a volatile one like telecom turned out like walking on a razor sharp edge falling from where was inevitable. I also think telecom services model requires employees to be skilled in the domain and the customers products and this typically has a learning curve of at least a year. In failing to control attrition, lots of employee capital was lost which is not so easy to replace as in case of companies like infosys and tcs.
