There is ABSOLUTELY NO TRUTH in the report that Modi offered Rs.One crore to Mrs Karkare. A news report in the Indian Express (indianexpress.com/news/-Modi-offered-no-compensation-/392342) dated Nov 30, says: "...Narendra Modi had made no offer of any compensation when he called on the family of ... Hemant Karkare". This was stated by Mrs. Karkare herself, who said, Modi had dropped in on his own, after the dead officer's kin had thrice told his officials that they had no wish to meet anyone. Therefore, there was no question of Mrs. Karkare "refusing" the offer. It is high time that the Engloish Language media stopped maligning Modi and other BJP leaders.
