Are we racist? You know the answer already
Speak to any African student in New Delhi and you will hear stories of the most appalling discrimination

I think that some Indians like to hate Black people in a way to completely separate themselves from them and to not be put in the same category as them. Trying to identify with the white race is a way to become accepted and dare not to be racially damned as Blacks in a society. It's like someone stepping on any stool to appear taller or superior. It's apalling how the Indians have been abused by British before in their past history, but want to relate and to still yearn for the approval of acceptance from whites(perhaps ex. as a child who's badly beaten by his father, but as an adult, he still yearns and depends on the acceptance from his father in order shape up his self-identity). Despite all the agonizing conflicts, racism, discrimation-must I stress more- that Blacks Americans have faced, there is always the morality and acceptance of being proud of yourself and who you are that never seemed to fade away despite the racism that had plagued the US for many centuries. This kind of attitude contributes to the reason why Blacks, according to a recent poll, have the highest self-esteem and self-confidence than any other ethnicity. Perhaps this is why a man called Barack Obama (who defines himself as a black man, even though he's of mixed race) became the first African-American President of the USA. In plain human terms, racism spoken or uttered among Indians towards Blacks, is a personal self-coflict among that certain individual and Blacks to them is an easy gateway to feel an articial sense of higher hierarchy by spewing the same bad blood they had inherited from their past defeators.
