Looks like the whole idea why Mint hired/ contracted you because you could give some gyan to local readers on your experience with your underdeveloped native nation and the NRIs a taste of what they could experience eh!
Ever been to US countryside? Except that they do mechanized farming, all other opportunities are no different from what's available at the Assam village you had referred.
All the best! Have fun with Indian food and Indian movies... easier then living sub optimally.
