From India back to the US
We have little in common, little to say, and yet I fear the day when my offspring and theirs will no longer feel connected to a place like this, or even to each other

I love Mint and am glad it just got better. All your columns were structured from an elitist framework and that really held you back from commenting intelligently on India and its realities. Your observations were cliched and NRIesque. As a journalist NRI or otherwise, one is supposed to move beyond one's background. It is not about shying away from India's muck - far from that, like Slumdog Millionaire showed, we like to drown in shit. We love that.
Sure, the US is a nice place (after all I am just a student here), the point is it is not a comparison between NY and Dilli - but what these differences mean to you and in what tone you articulate them.
