Surprising what passes off for journalism these days.....Ms Ramani's rabid penchant for all things "liberal" (sic) has resulted in this train-wreck of an article making to 'Lounge'. Its absolutely fine if Mr Patel is rooting for Manmohan Singh - its his right to choose who he sees fit.However he does a downright pathetic job in making a cogent argument to influence the reader as to *why* he arrived at this conclusion.After spending 3/4ths of the article foaming at the mouth and ranting about the monster-in-waiting (Advani) he spends the remaining lines painting a beatific halo over Manmohan Singh.With not even a shred of objectivity (don't even get me started on the literary abilities of Mr Patel - its a miracle he's in publishing)this piece is little better than the cheap,hopelessly biased speeches that two bit local politicians make during elections.I'll ask one simple question to Mr Patel (if he even bothers to check replies to his literary misadventures): If Mr Singh is such an accomplished & distinguished Economist - from Oxford no less - why is that we as a country are suffering from probably the worst recession in modern times ? Does that not speak volumes about his "Economic" capabilities much less his effete leadership capabilities (26/11 anybody?) But of course such questions would make your little head spin real fast which is perhaps why you neatly sidestepped them in your article(sic).Nevertheless good luck to you for your next tilt at the Windmills Mr Patel.And thank you Ms Ramani for maintaining such a fair and balanced set of viewpoints on Mint.
