Three years on, unwired cities project remains unachievable
Bangalore, Pune shelve plans; this, and the fact that the business doesn’t seem viable, is discouraging others

The statement that the business plan is not viable is a complete mistake. Bad business plans tied to poor engineering do not mean that the concept is not viable. The concept is viable with good engineering and newer technologies tied to realistic deployment designs. We are demonstrating that and are starting deployments to prove that the business is viable at $3000-$10,000 per square mile. Being able to provide bandwidth up to 50Mbps for end users are numbers nobody imagined 3 years ago but it's possible. Wireless can now compete with wireline services and even provide video cable services. Let's see what happens in the future.
