I fully agree with the finding that Indian affluent class is helping generating more Co2 than the ordinary man. This is probably due to ignorence.I am an active campaigner on this issue.Whenever I raise this issue at any social events I find that there is complete lack of sensitivity and comitment towards this issue. We have to actively and quickly device a mechanism as how to address this issue with sufficient impact? In India I have seen nothing works on volantry basis, whether a simple road dicipine or the general cleanliness leave aside a larger and complex issue like Global Warming.
I think the documantry made by Mr Al Gore "The Inconvinient Truth" should be screened freely to our affluent class.Probably this could help the begining of awareness amongst the affluent class.
I do not buy the argument that India is in ecnomic growth mode for that we canot take any sringent action. We must not forget that atmospher has no boundries.Rich countries has already damaged the enviornment knowingly or unknowingly whatever may be the reason and for that we all have also enjoyed the fruits of the advance technology. At this critical stage where our planets existence is at stake we have to fixed our priorities right.Tomorow if world doesnot exist economic growth has no meaning.
I feel Govt must start taking a proactive action on reduction of Co2 by advising all the large industries to begin with to curve their emmision to a perticular level and pump in sufficient fund for the R&D on reneable energy equiepment development.
