Why film’s great leveller hasn’t hit television
When you flip from one Hindi entertainment channel to another, can you really tell the difference?

Hi Vir, Interesting article! In my view, movies are watched by a younger audience than that that watches TV. So, when the profile / outlook of the younger audience changed, our movies changed to better suit the taste of that audience. As the 'young' audience of the 1970's aged, they reduced watching movies, and started watching TV, which suits thems better. So the current TV shows are tailored to suit their needs, not of those who are watching movies in multiplexes.
