Turmoil in the taxi market
Taxi drivers in Mumbai and small retailers around the country face similar business challenges

Quite a different line of discussion. Personally, I feel taxi business in India cannot be hampered by emergence of GPS or any such slick technology, the reason being the lengths to which one must go to avail the service and also the costs associated. The distance will also matter here. Short trips to nearby places will not attract anyone to the use of such technology. But yes the Union trouble is realistic and the analysis on the taxi business model and its comparison is also affirmative.
