I congratulate Vir Sanghvi for his understanding of the psyche of the person buying expensive designer stuff and their fakes. Most Indians are now buying "International" brands which are actually manufactured in India and paying enormous amounts of money for them. I have been an exporter for the last 10 years and can say with experience that the markups these designer labels have is downright obscene! They also squeeze the third world manufacturers dry and leave them with hardly anything. This is the perverse side of global capitalism that nobody can do anything about.
