MCX keen to start carbon futures trade
It is in advanced talks with Chicago Climate Exchange; trading could help Indian firms get a better price

As of today the price of CERs in Indian market is volatile. A lot of credit goes to lack of information with the sellers of CERs. With coming up of an Indian stock exchange catering to the CERs will surely help get better price for carbon. China has a price flooring of 8-10 Euros, but that is acceptable there as the size of their projects is too large. Indian projects are mostly small in size when it comes to CERs. However, it is an irony that the largest volume of over 4 million CERs issued recently is also an Indian project.
