Who is afraid of the real power women?
Business was never so saucy, so fresh, and, of course, feminine

Dear Mrinal,
I am a woman but I do not empathise with your article.
When did Ms. Patil become the epitome of womanhood. I have no problem with a worthwhile woman or man being the president our country. All I want is a worthwhile citizen of the nation who will do our country proud.
Ms Patil does not qualify as a worthwhile candidate, and I don't think we women of India need her to bolster our self esteem. She is full of false promises just like the advertisements you tout and by cynically trying to push her case just because she is a woman you are guilty of being nothing better than the advertisers who advertise the cause of their masters which in your case I suspect is congress.
India has enough women candidates who are more than worthy of being the first citizen of the nation - a Kiran Bedi, Sudha Murthy, Medha Patkar are just top of the mind recall candidates for the same.
And as for your arrogant dismissal of a glamourous aishwarya Rai or Bipasha, please note - these women are achievers who have achieved whatever they have with their own merit and hard work unlike your severely dressed Mrs. Gandhi who is today where she is because of being married to the right family.
